I was really pleased with bareminerals when I tried it, and it travels really well, but it was hard for me to give it up altogether.
One of my gripes was that the "starter kit" sent two tones of foundation and none of them matched. I think you're better off going to Sephora where you can try and buy your ACTUAL shade.
Second, it looks very powdery and can have a cakey effect. I highly advice against using it when you're going to be taking photos - I was totally surprised how PALE I looked when I saw photos of myself when I was wearing the makeup. Using a lot around your mouth and nose creates fine lines that appear like wrinkles (and I'm in my early 20's).
... but all in all, it is a really great product. My advice is to purchase the foundation and the mineral veil. I often use the foundation as a concealer because it does look so natural. It also gives a nice finish to seal a liquid foundation. And the mineral veil is AWESOME and can be used in all sorts of neat ways. Their standard blush powder - called Warmth - is also really useful and comes in handy all year long. Another product I've heard rave reviews about is their new overnight treatment. It's a splurge at $60, but I think their line is outstanding.
But try a few of their products first and judge for yourself. I'd start with your foundation, Warmth and mineral veil. They're 3 great products you can use with your existing makeup arsenal. Good luck!

The coverage is good - the trick is to have the right brushes. I used it to cover under eye circles and some discoloration. The starter kit is great, it has all you need, except for one brush I think and it comes with an instructional video. I really like the "warmth" that comes in the kit and I've never ever been a blush wearer before. When I first got my kit I wasn't all that impressed and attempted to go back to my liquid foundation and then I realized how much better bare minerals is - no line along the jaw or hairline! It looks much more natural and light - not heavy at all. Also, it helps keep the oil in check, whereas the cream or liquid foundation adds to it, especially in the humidity.
The only downsides are that you have you make sure you moisturize any fine lines inthe eye area because powder can make them look more dry and I don't like the way it's packaged - it can be messy, especially to travel with. But I think recently they've come out with a pressed powder compact for touch ups.
All in all I've been very happy with it and have gotten compliments about how good my skin looks with it on. I don't plan on switching!

I just started using it about a week ago and love it! I got it because my liquid foundation was making my skin oily, and bare minerals is the only powder I found to offer the same coverage without bothering my skin. In fact, it gives better coverage than my liquid. A few nights ago I was in a hot room and about to give a speech and could feel myself blushing because my cheeks got really hot, I expected the whole room to see a bright red face. After the speech, I went into the bathroom, still feeling my cheeks being bright red, but they looked normal. I couldn't even see the faintest color pink! I was amazed, Bare Minerals is worth every penny.

I love Bare Minerals You can cover so much. My dark circles, zits, that 'stache' I haven't taken care of yet. Anything, and its very quick once you've gotten into the rythym of it. There's just too mnay cool products out there and I had to try them all to figure out which ones I liked best. It's $$$ but it's worth it to look like $$$$$$$$. Hope this helps.

Yes I have used Bare Minerals, but I use Arbonne products now and would suggest you trying the Mineral Powders in this line. Plus we have an Anti-Aging skin care kit that is phenomenal.

I had the exact same problems as the previous poster Heather K had... I am 23 and it made my look alot older and had a cakey look to it. It does cover the red, so if you are desperately needing to cover some problems and its more important than a few fine lines then go for it.
