What do you think of the name Romani for a girl? Is it weird, because I have never heard of that as a name. What exactly is Romani... isn't is a language?

I heard the name off the video game, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. One of the little ranch girl's name was Romani, and she was a cute girl with long red hair. It definitely grew on me.

What do you guys think of it?

It is a language but it is ok. I prefer Romana for a name but I think Romani could grow on me. Lots of nickname potential if she grows to hate it. I would stick with a more traditional middle name. Mix old with trendy (since anything unusual is trendy) Maybe Romani Victoria.

I'm not a guy, I'm a great grandma and I think it's a great name.

.There certainly won't be six of them in her classes at school so she won't have to go by Romani A. or Romani B. or Romanie C.

How does it sound with her last name..smooth?

I love it!

Different, but not weird, and definitely feminine!

Romani IS a language (also called Romany)...Spoken in the Baltic region, and often associated with Gypsies. It is derivative from "Rome", much like the boy's name, Roman.

I prefer Romana though I do like Romani. We were toying with that name for a daughter since we honeymooned in Italy and Rome.

Romani is a term used for gypsies in Europe. It would be like naming your child Semite or Hispanic.

You might consider making Romani her middle name. Then she has the option of using it if she loves it or ignoring it if she hates it.

You can name your child whatever you might think sounds cool, but just remember you're sentencing the poor thing to a life sentence with whatever your whimsical choice might be.
