I have the proper usb hub. I'm just wondering if iTunes is needed for the battery to charge.

D: Thanks in advance!

Is it normal for the shuffle to blink orange continuously? If so, how long will it be before it stops?

Yes, the ipod does not need iTunes to charge, it just opens iTunes if you do have it. The cable that connects it to the computer is all you need, I should know, I had this problem till i got iTunes

that is going to do. plug it in and look on the battery indicator on the ipod and word if this is were given a lightning bolt or what ever touches have. if it wont you'd be more advantageous suited off getting a ac wall charger. those are quite lower priced and fee it faster than a usb port. wish this enables

Yes, you only need iTunes to update and put songs on the iPod.
