An action verb tells a story about the object. It is a word that describes ACTION, literally. The answer is 4, none of these sentences demonstrates an action taken by the person upon the object. She RAN the course. He FLEW the airplane. Allen DANCED on the floor at the wedding. Sue was a violin player but STRUMMED a guitar on occassion. In each instance above, the verb shows an ACTION that the person took upon a person, place or thing.
