if your biracial or not you may understand. I myself, am half black/half white, when people ask me my race. I say white, just to throw them off. I am a darker than the average "milano" person. I consider myself "other" because my dad isnt 100% black and my mom mostly white. But this is the thing i dont understand, the criticizm. At a young age, i knew i was different. Black girls telling me " you act too white " and pulling my curly hair telling me its a weave, when it wasnt. And white girls telling me that i should stop acting white. I dont appreciate either of the comments from either races, i am me. No one else, I am proud of who i am, half black and half white. I could be put in a sterotype of " prep " but i get critized for it often. I, personally am physically attracted to white/hispanic/asian boy, I cant tell you why, but I personally am. Why is that so wrong in society? Because I look black i must be black and like black boys? Or act black? I dont under America somedays.

on another part
i dont really consider myself
only blocked off to liking white men
because my past boyfriend was half like me
and i do know of some attractive black friends and celebrities
what i was trying to say
is that when i admit to a white guy being "goodlooking" i get critisized for it. just because of my color. Race doesnt matter to me, it all depends on the person, but again the part that bugs me that both white and black people critisize me when i admit to being attacted to a white guy. The rate this country is going, the number of multiracial children being born is only growing and over the years, I'm sure no1 will be 100% one race.

thanks to all that have given their imput it has helped :)

I am a mixed man and I am attracted to black and Latino women. I am rarely attracted to white women. I got called Mexican all of the time. Aside from being called Mexican I found black people to be the most accepting. The majority of my friends were and are black. I find black people to be the lease racist. I had a Friend who I hung out with for years who found out my dad was black and was surprised. He thought I was white with a good tan. This kid never mentioned race. I don't even think about it much any more. The girls who tease you would probably trade places with you in an instant. Don't let them take away your shine girl. Its funny how mediocrity is able to convince superiority that it is anything but. Don't let it do it to you.

Just like Tiger Woods. He's a mixture of black, white, indian (native) and some European. A lot of people instantly label him as black and he gets offended because he considers himself white as much as black. Which he has a right too.

Just consider yourself what you want to be, if others don't understand...it's their problem. Don't be around them. 90 per cent of people are idiots...you'll learn this in time. Ignore them and just look for the other 10 per cent. In the end, you have about 100 "friends" but when the poop hits the fan and you need someone to lean on, re-count how many friends you have. It's a lot less. ;)

Not that it's right at all but generally people for some reason consider having black blood then you are black just like if you dropped food coloring into milk it would change the color. I would consider you to be mixed, most of us are a mix of something to the point that we don't really know what we are. Many of the people in Mexico are a mix of Spanish and Native American.

Generally, I sympathize with you about having to choose. Just shows how color struck this country still is.

But I do think you have racial issues since you say you're physically attracted to everyone except black men. That ain't just physical attraction hun, that's something else.

Maybe that's what people are picking up on. Seems like you're quite happy to own the white part of your heritage, but are rejecting the black part. That's unfortunate, but it is what seems to be coming through from your write-up.

And no, I'm not saying you have an obligation to identify as anything that you don't want to.

I am not biracial but I have dated many black men and I have 1 biracial niece and 2 biracial nephews. First let me tell you that biracial people are the most beautiful people I have ever seen. Don't let the stupidity of others question who you are. Be yourself and don't let what other people think bother you. It doesn't matter what color you are attracted to, we are all the same inside. I wish everybody thought this way but unfortunately not everybody is educated enough to think this way. Date, act and talk how you want and ignore those who choose to criticize you for that.

I´m half-white, half-Mexican and I always get comments from both sides saying "You don´t look Mexican". It´s not a rule that darker skin always cancels out lighter skin, I mean look at Mariah Carey. My dad is dark-skinned and a lot of people would assume that he´s my stepdad just because my skin color is different from his. I´ve always been attracted to both white and hispanic men and I think that´s only natural. People stereotype the way you look and think you should behave according to their standards and no one who isn´t biracial can really understand it.

I'm Hispanic and happen to like white guys. I get put down for it, too, as if I'm supposed to only like other Hispanics or it's "wrong" to date outside our ethnic group.

Yes, I've also been told that I act "too white" or even that I sound white.

I've learned to ignore those kinds of comments. The people who think that way are ignorant and often very racist. Why give their opinions any weight? As long as I do what I feel is right, that's what matters. If I meet a Hispanic or Black or Asian or Native American or whatever guy and we click, then I'll go for it.

So far, it's typically white guys that attract me and I'm not going to apologize for it or act like it's wrong because it's not. Don't let them get to you!

Again the problem is the cause of Ignorance, educate your self, learn, what ever you which, first to show your own self, you can use your own God giving gift of Intelligence because who you are, and not because what you represent, So, then you can represent any one you want, or fell more comfortable to represent, be or become, and although I'm mix, Spanish-Indian from South America, many times I say, just to please people I'm 51% Spanish, though I'm thinking from with-in, and I fell 99.9% South American Indian.

don't let them get to you, I've been there and not to much has changed. I'm biracial and almost 40yo, it's never stopped. people (total strangers) still ask me the most offensive questions. I'm not white, I'm Puerto Rican, black and Irish I've been told mostly by blacks, that i need to pick a side either white or black. that makes no sense to me i am what i am and will not apologize to any one for my skin color or pick a side. don't try to understand craziness, elevate your self to higher thinking than what the "pure bloods" dictate.plus we have a way better gene pool than them....
