i want to buy a washer and dryer that will do the following:

1.) wash and dry my king size comforter
2.) is stackable
3.) is front loading
4.) energy effecient

I bought the LG 4.0 Cu. Ft. Control Center Front Load Washer, at best buy, and they said it would fit, in the stackable position, in my tiny closet thats about 27 1/2" wide (in the doorway), 82" high, and i dont remember how deep it is. but it couldnt be installed because the delivery man said it would only give him 5 inches to get around it in order to install it, which obviuosly isnt enough sapce to squeeze through. my question is, is there a washer and dryer thats stackable, but is thinner that say 24 inches? or do i have another option? the LG washer i bought was 27" wide.

I would recommend getting a smaller washer and dryer one that can be easily installed. The big issue is the king size comforter and the truth is that the machines that are large enough to fit them often don't have the horsepower to consistently wash them without killing the motor.

Many of my neighbors who all have dedicated laundry rooms buy the "normal" size washers and dryers and take their comforters out to the laundry mat to wash. In general, they only need to be washed around twice a year. That is if you use them in the "traditional" manner which is that you just dress the bed with them and take them off at night.

Back when I was young and poor we would wash our comforter in the bath tub. Let it drain really good and then take it out and hang it off the balcony to dry! This is actually a very gentle method that makes them last longer!

Just a quick note on cleaning the king sized comforter. Take that to the drycleaners. They can run specials. I would never try to wash a comforter that large, nor pillows, in any washer that has one of those agitators that stick up in the middle. Can tear up tight, large, bulky items.

Good luck on getting the rest of your info.

I wash my comforters, yet a king length is basically too vast. i don't agitate the comforters, yet basically enable them to soak interior the showering gadget, with a small volume of cleansing soap extra. i take advantage of my palms to push the comforter down into the water. in case you attempt to run the gadget, the washer will make all forms of low, grunting noises because it tries to circulate the very heavy, finished load. do not subject. basically soak the factor, then turn the cycle to spin. Spin out the soapy water, then fill the gadget up lower back, permit it soak lower back with undeniable water, then spin it lower back. Spinning does not look to harm the gadget, while agitation interior the wash and rinse cycles do. Agitation can tear the comforter. i offered the main important precise loader i might desire to locate. it fairly is a Maytag, their best. fee me around $500, and it is not sufficiently vast. If doing comforters is needed, i might choose for a front loading gadget. those do not agitate with a center spindle, yet basically circulate around in circles so they gained't tear aside blankets or placed on down the transmission.
