No, the original with Maureen O'Hara is the best in my opinion!
The old movies just cant be replaced.

One for each new generation and with the improvements in film making that have taken place. Each one has its place, just as do the different versions of Pride & Prejudice. You don't have to view them if you're not interested; the different ones are there for those of us who do want to watch them all.

Not necessary at all. The original is a true classic and true movie classics should not be tampered with.

i agree. the original with maureen o'hara and natalie wood tops all other attempts!!!! i've been catching it every so often on amc, it's their movie of the month.
