I'm also tired of this politically correct stuff. It will always be a Christmas tree. Christmas is about Christ. We need to keep Christ in Christmas! I'm sick of people saying we don't want to offend other religions. I can't wait for Jesus to return and prove that He is the way, the truth, and the life.

It really didn't start with the 911 thing but that helped it along. It's because of the people who don't believe in Christianity and are like an Atheist and find it offencive that we call it a christmas tree and yet they still want to celebrate it. To me it has been a long time holiday and it shouldn't be changed just because a few people get upset but still want the presents. What will be next... Easter, because it isn't set on one day... it moves? These are old traditions and if people don't like them, don't try and change the name... just DON'T CELEBRATE IT!

I've actually never heard anyone call it a holiday tree. I think it is a myth to get people excited about Christmas. Some businesses say happy holidays, but I've never seen a holiday tree section.

Well, for non christians like me its nice to have an non religious name since I am not celebrating Christmas...the birth of Christ and the manger...I am practicing the Holiday tradition of gift giving and light hanging but no worship or reverence for Jesus.
Also, it is Holiday season...its the season of Christmas and Hannika (sp?) and Kwanza.
ALSO the Christmas tree is a take off of the Yule tree which was lit with candles so as a pagan I can ask you :"Why are people calling it a Christmas tree and Christmas when its a Yule tree for Yule"
Get over yourself.

AMEN! Just so you know, we're bowing to the secular minority whenever we say "holiday tree" or "holiday party" - Keep calling it a Christmas Tree and keep saying Merry Christmas!
God Bless!

You're all forgetting it's a CHRISTIAN tradition. If you don't like it...you are free not to participate in it. But please do not try to change our religious festivities just to suit your religion or culture. It's not appreciated. Thanks.
