Unfortunately, liberals' and/or Dems' hate for Bush the man has gradually morphed into their hate for Bush the President, and consequently the office of President, without them even realizing it.
As true Americans, regardless of political party, we must constantly be wary of making politics personal and losing faith in our political system by making it informal like we have (read link for most recent and prominent example).
That is what the Founding Fathers were so afraid of when they set up our Democratic government, and why George Washington on his deathbed said that party politics would be the downfall of our Democracy if it grew out of control, as it has now.
Liberals/Democrats are so blinded by their lack of power and the many political blockades against them by Bush that they him as their President, but only as a man with an uncontrollable desire to rule the world.
We as Republicans can only hope if we lose the Presidency in '08 that we will be the bigger American citizens and use the word "President" before the President's last name as the smallest sign of respect for his office that we can and should afford.

No matter who is president, the office and the person deserve respect. I respected Carter and Clinton but that did not mean that I had to like them.

I agree with the idea that the President deserves respect... but it isn't free from review. The President can keep the respect of the people, or lose it.
But, then again, the cynical mind of the American people does innevitably label the President as an imbecile, or incapable, or a liar, or what have you. Although... many of them have earned such a reputation. Reagan with the Iran-Contra, Bush senior with the state of his economy, Bush Junior with the Iraq situation, Clinton with his perjury, Nixon with his wire-tapping...
In true American fashion I contend that the office of the President has earned its lack of respect.

admire is earned. i think of while one is genuinely the worst president ever as he's. those issues will happen. i don't condone be rude and disrespectful. I do inspire changing him by using vote. we can't arise with the money for 4 greater years of his incompetence. Race isn't a element in his scientific care . It became right into a element in his being elected to a job he has shown that he's unable to performing. Now,nonetheless. the alternative alternatives are almost or as undesirable as him it a brilliant number of procedures. that's gloomy. He has loaded up each newborn in this u . s . with greater debt than any President in historic previous. along with his regulations and the possibility of greater such coverage, he has destroyed greater wealth than any man or woman in historic previous, that's consistently what happens once you got down to redistribute wealth: you finally end up destroying it. He has delivered us to the fringe of the main huge tax will advance in historic previous and if we don’t % sufficient Republicans in November to end him that's precisely what we are able to get. He has compelled by using law and not using a unmarried republican vote that would destroy the top-rated well-being care equipment in historic previous while all we mandatory have been some measures to regulate costs. He has divided u.s. alongside racial strains in detrimental procedures and he's doing so returned by using suing Arizona over its attempt to regulate the drug commerce and human smuggling commerce threatening its protection. He has did not variety a coverage to safely cope with the vicious Mexican drug cartels that are in reality working factors of that u . s . and starting to be an increasing possibility to ours. He has traveled the international making apologies for u.s. somewhat of protecting its undying and precious ideals of freedom and peace for all countries of excellent will. He has mentioned there is not something astonishing approximately u.s., some thing no different president has ever mentioned and a few thing which on my own shows he's a traditionally unfavorable president. He has employed human beings of wierd and radical perspectives to hold significant federal posts wherein they pursue greater undesirable coverage that no administration in historic previous has ever pursued.

I would say respecting the office is a two way street.. Bush should also respect the office... also, part of respect can mean to criticize actions so as to help people stay on the correct path.. granted slanderous terminology doesn't fall under that definition.. but disagreeing with the president does.

At home respect for the Presidency went out the window with the "My Pet Goat" and "Flight Suit/Mission Accomplished" episodes.
The fact that Bush's command of the English language is less than that of 90% of the worlds foreign leaders doesn't help gain respect for the presidency overseas either.
Bottom line is, Bush has lowered the prestige of the office single-handily. He's an embarrassment to us all. And that angers allot of people.
Is he a buffoon? Maybe not. But he sure acts like one.

There will never be respect as long as corporations back someone who is uneducated (wordly wise) and really a bit of a pliant dummy,
Only when someone who can fund there own election, have experience with the people and of corporate business and has there own open agenda will there ever be a president to respect. Don't hold your breath!

People have always joked about any President in office or out, but what these people are doing on YA makes me sick. Since it goes beyond disrespect to Hate. I feel they'd be more productive if they put the energy they use to hate President Bush into their actual jobs. I wonder if their employers know how much time they waste on YA writing hateful questions about Bush and the conservatives.
I never disliked Clinton or any Democratic President as much as they hate on Bush. And when I point out some truths about their beloved President Kennedy they ignore me.
Edit: Wow another thumbs down for pointing out the honest truth and not bashing the president like the majority of people on YA are doing.

Respect is something which is earned. The current administration has earned no respect, only our disdain and wrath. When there is once again someone in the Oval Office worth respecting, maybe we will.
