It might be an access problem. My wife's from there and I guess they still pay by the minute to get online. So during the day a lot of people stay off (since it's more expensive), late at night and on weekends everyone tries to get on and can't connect. He's probably okay.

I don't know your friend. I don't know what languages you know, but some times the ISP server in other countries have very bad connections and that can cause a problem. You might need to communicate in Portuguese.

dont worry cuase this has happened to me...my bestfriend went to war but before he left he told me that he can always e-mail me there.
it just takes time dont worry when he gets his mail he will definitely reply to you. well good luck!!!

i wouldn't worry. a year ago, my bff moved 2 turkey and she wasn't responding 2 me 4 a while, but everything was fine!
