My husband and I are currently seperated and live in seperate homes, I have recently checked our phone bill online (we have cells and a joint account) and he has been talking to someone on the phone in another state, in the middle of the night, for up to 4 hours at a time. I was curious, so I made a new email account and starting chatting with him as if I were a stranger (please dont preach at me for that) and I believe the girl he is chatting with on and offline is under 18, I actually believe she is around 16. I dont want him to get in serious trouble for this, but he needs to stop this before he does actually get in trouble, or before he does something awful. Obviously if there is nothing else I can do, other than report him I would, I would never put a child at risk, EVER. Is there ANYTHING i can do to scare him into stopping this now? I believe this her private phone line, it is a land line. (I did a reverse phone search.) Im unsure if the girl knows his real age, or not.

I am NOT trying to ok what he is doing, and I am NOT ok with it. I am more concerned about HER than him, and I dont have any proof she is under 18, just a suspicion, and I dont know if she knows his real age either.

i can sympathize with you and your dillemma, but if your gut is telling you that this is going on it probably is. trust your inner feelings. maybe you could contact her or her parents annomynously and give them a warning. then tell him you know what he is doing and to stop it. try to find out why he feels the need to trust a 16yr. old with his feelings or lack of them ...hope this helps.

Well, since you have the phone number, call it. Tell whoever answers that you found their number on the phone bill, and wanted to find out who it is! And ask questions, such as who they are, or even how old they are! I don't think there's anything wrong with that!
Then call your husband. Tell him you DID call because you found that number on the phone bill! Be up front! Let him know of any information you found from that phone number, and that he could get in a lot of trouble depending on what you find out!
As for the internet issue, that's a tricky one. I agree with the other responses that he should watch Dateline for online predators. Perhaps invite him over to "talk" or discuss finances, or even to watch TV that night (if you still get along), and happen to turn it on. Somehow, get him to come over the night Dateline will have those episodes of those predators!
There's no easy way to tell him... perhaps you should just come out with the truth!

Well.. why dont you use ur alternate email account and freak him out by blackmailing him? Or you could try pretending to be a "close buddy" of ur friends and speak to her... and in the process accidently spoil his image.
In any case, this is something which can turn into a very nasty situation if things are allowed to go further. If need be, you should probably have a chat with either of them and threaten if required.

I think you're just being an insecure, immature person.
Your husband is a big boy and the girl is well is her parents fault!.
I think the best thing to do is completely disconnect phone and other things from your husband. It sounds to me like all you want is revenge and here you are trying to sound "angelic", but I don't buy it. Leave your husband or ex alone, he's a grown man and I am sure he'll know what to do.

The worst thing about snooping is you have to admit the snoop in order to confront the problem. Tell your husband what you think (just print this off and mail this to him and say that you think it is him). In most states, what he is doing is legal (she's 16 which is a magic age of concent).
Sorry, sounds like you and your husband have a lot to work out

I agree with Railway. Telling him thats a police woman trying to trap him will get him away real fast! Tell him...it's one of those MSNBC investigation shows where they talk to you for awhile then invite you there and then catch you and arrest you.

You might want to show him one of COUNTLESS videos of sting operations. If that doesn't scare him straight, then maybe he needs to be rapped on the head by Lady Justice.

Go to the girl, if you know her address. Tell her the situation. If she doesnt do anything then you might have to report him.
