One is a stereotype of a young man (sometimes woman) who is socially stilted and unsuccessful but nevertheless usually is very good in school. The other is both a word for a young man who pledges a fraternal order in college and a stereotype of a young white male who comes from a privileged background, drinks and parties all the time and doesn't have much respect for women.
I wouldn't marry either.
