You have asked a very interesting question and if you are an american then my answer mite disappoint you. Well, American have done a lot for the world since they believe this world has to end one day then why not end it early so they are trying to eradicate human race from earth. What they did in Iraq and Afghanistan and Viet nam? They are selling weapons to many countries because they know human beings really need weapons and food is a secondary thing. There are many other good things they are doing but for the time being I think its enough for you.

America has spearheaded most scientific breakthroughs and innovations in technology in the latter half of the 20th century. America has developed and manufactured many every day appliances and consumer items that have change the way people live throughout the world. America has also given the world McDonalds, Starbucks, and Wal-Mart. Not always a good thing, but convenient nontheless...
