Does Vodka smell or not? I don't drink so I wouldn't know but everyone is saying it does except for one person.

Charges should be pressed. Vodka reeks of alcohol, there's NO way that she not only opened it, but POURED it into a bottle without smelling it. A 2 month old usually spits up a little at each feeding too, so the kid would have had some pretty strong breath. I think the mom was either drunk, or she's just a moron who doesn't deserve that kid. Either way, I do not see how someone wouldn't notice that the "water" smelled like alcohol. And vodka DOES smell. Not necessarily like a "drink" but you can smell the alcohol in it. Unless of course, he was drinking some high class kind of vodka(which does have a less "cutting"smell) out of a water bottle.....which for some reason, I doubt was the case.

she could be telling the truth. Vodka doesnt have a smell to it and it does look like water. But at the same time: why would the husband be drinking vodka out of a water bottle? I dont know: Hopefully the police will determine whats really going on.
To kid crazy: Vodka does not have a smell to it. It doesnt smell like an alcoholic drink.

I'm undecided on this one. It could be that the mother was very naive and not thinking before she used the 'water' from the water bottle. Very stupid mistake if it were a mistake. It could of killed her daughter. On the other hand the world is so crazy these days it could of very well been a malicious act. That is probably why there were no charges laid. They couldn't determine the true intentions of the incident. My heart goes out to that baby and I hope there are no long lasting effects. Also if the mother is being truthful on what happened, I feel sorry for her as well because she is probably devastated over this. I guess we will never know what really happened.

I asked a question about this yesterday too, I don't know how she's not in jail. I know that the baby is in state custody and that angry woman on cnn said that the only reason they haven't pressed charges yet is because of the mess over Jon Benet Ramsey earlier this year... they want to make sure that they have everything put together before taking it to the DA... they're stupid for waiting though, they have a history of living out of their car... with the possibility of having charges pressed they're probably going to just take off and have a baby somewhere else and hurt that baby too. It's so messed up.

I wouldn't be keeping the vodka bottle anywhere near the childs things anyway.
I guess it could be an accident for those less diligent folks.
But the little bit of booze I do have is kept in a cabinet away from everyday items such as food, beverages, and baby items!

I'm sorry but I can smell vodka as soon as I open the bottle. Its an excuse and hopefully they will keep the child in custody for a long time. She's not free and clear yet and hopefully she won't be. She was probably trying to put her kid to sleep and thought it would be a great idea to use vodka.

What a sham. A bottle full of vodka would smell like vodka whether you smelled it or not. And who puts vodka in a baby bottle anyways?
Poor little girl. Hopefully someone will watch out for her.

That's a load of horse manure. How could you NOT know when you open a bottle that it is NOT water?
Yes, vodka has a very distinct odour.
They should have pressed charges against BOTH of them , if nothing else but for neglect.

I think that is a little odd. I think to say that you gave your baby milk instead of formula, yeah, but vodka by mistake? That's a little over the line.

In a way it does seem like she made a mistake but everything just kind of seems odd. She will pay for it though if it was on purpose because not only is she the one that knows the truth but also God knows the truth. Thank God that the baby is fine.
