Yes they are called Nasal Aspirators, usually the hospitals will send you home with one. Infants and Newborns can't blow their noses so you have to use an aspirator to get all of the mucus out.

What nose plunger things? The nasal aspirators? If so, yes. They use them at the birth.

yes, but be very careful when you insert it. If you insert it too far, it can damage delicate nasal tissue. Also, only use it when your baby has such a runny nose that it makes him/her uncomfortable or unable to breathe through the nose. It can cause the congestion to become worse if you overuse it. Make sure you clean it after each use to prevent the buildup of bacteria. They make one with an opening on the top that makes it easy to clean and it also has a guard so that it can't be inserted too far. I think the brand name is "first years"

Yes, it's what they use as soon as the baby is born to clear them out. Just be sure you don't put it too far in the nose.

Yes they are safe. You'll become an expert with them after one cold season. Just have your doctor show you how to use it correctly if you are nervous

If they are used correctly - yes. Ask your Pediatrician or Nurse if you don't know how to use it. (Or an experienced mom)
