I worked for a company that provided a wireless internet service and it went out 12 miles (line of sight). Our competitor only went out 6.

Microwave can go many miles.

There are ways to make your wireless router hit 2 miles (line of site).

WiFi is farther than 200 ft, but not by much.

depends on the hardware, access point and antenna but fro home networking, no matter how big your house is, you will have coverage with a comercial access point like linksys or netgear.

200 feet is right. EXCEPT.. there are third party devices which you can hook to the router and then your computer such as a CANTENNA (www.cantenna.com) which will allow you further access.

I have gotten 1.74 miles out with a cantenna hooked to my computer.
