Sounds to me like you're describing Fantasia.
Fantasia was a collection of short animated pieces set to music. Tchiakovsky's Nutcracker inspired squat dancing mushrooms. Mickey does a turn as the Sorcerer's Apprentice. The unicorns are frolicking in a greek inspired short. Night on Bald Mountain has a large demon directing thousands of his minions in a frenzy.

Disney never did a silent movie.
Do you mean "The Last Unicorn" with Mia Farrow? That wasn't a Disney.

If it was "silent" you may be referring to Disney's Fantasia. Their were short animated films and the only thing heard is music from an orchestra. One clip is of "the devil," Chernabog. It it quite scary when you're young. It's done in dark colors and Chernabog raises the evil spirits of the dead. In another clip there's a colorful family of pegasus, and in another there's the "horse-people." And the beautiful lady horse-people get ready to meet the boy horse-people to find their mates.

I believe you are thinking of the film LEGEND made in the 1980's and starring a young Tom Cruise. It was made by Beuna Vista Productions which is owned by Disney, it also has everything you described except it isn't a silent film. Hope this helps.

I definitely say Legend is what you are thinking of. Although for the people that answered before me...the girl in Legend is not Mia Farrow (who was married to Woody Allen) it is Mia Sara.
