it would be awesome if i could tell it to drop the quality so the file is at a max of 2 gigs, my Archos is FAT 32 or NTFS, wither way, it will only take files that are smaller than 2046, i assume its not 2048 because the last 2 megs are info or something, i want it to rip to DVD quality and please dont say magic dvd ripper, i have it and its nice and all, but it doesnt rip to dvd quality.

In Mac OS X land, you can use Handbrake or Mac The Ripper.

In Windows land, you can use DVD43 or smart ripper

Doesnt it support DivX? AFAIK it does. Try converting it to DivX using Dr DivX. A 1.4GB DivX rip is of very very good quality. Infact, a ~700MB DivX DVD-rip is good enough for casual viewing. Although it would be best if you rip it to 1.4GB if size is not a constraint.
