I thought PETA loved animals. I do! Why does PETA kill so many animals that they rescue? After doing a little research I was appaled at the staggering amount at which they kill cats and dogs. Why do they have a cadaver refrigerator?
In one year PETA->
PETA RESCUED- 2,107 nice!
PETA KILLED- 1,324 what!!!
----------------------------------
SURVIVED BEING RESUCED BY PETA only 775 ouch!!!

Looks like it would have been better for Fido NOT to be rescued by PETA
I found that it is amazing how they attack others for doing the same thing. Why don't they attack themselves first?

But PETA has killed little puppies and kittens, who could have easily been adopted. There's a court case come up where they dumped the bodies of the puppies and kitten in other peoples trash cans. They told the people they would try to find them a good home and killed them before they ever got back to the shelter.

Its only one of the reasons why I'm anti-PETA

Probably the same reason the ASPCA and most other animal shelters do the same thing.

While I don't know the legitimacy of the site your info comes from (I'd be reluctant to believe anything on the net that's not provided by a well-known news agency)... I would venture to say that PETA euthanizes a large number of animals to end their suffering. Unfortunately, many of the animals that PETA confiscates are incredibly malnourished, abused, used in animal fighting or testing, etc. and could never ever be adopted into homes nor even lead happy lives in some sort of sanctuary. These animals have been so horribly maimed by their cruel "caretakers" that the best they can hope for is to finally not have to live any longer.

I am not a huge PETA supporter. I find some of their work worthwile, I find most of it over-reaching and overly-fanatic. But still... after working for years in the shelter industry... I've seen the conditions in which many of these animals come into our care. I volunteer with a no-kill shelter, but even we have to euthanize the occasional animal that cannot be saved and is suffering. And we're one of the few TRUE no-kills out there. Many others are "no kill of adoptable pets" which is an entirely different thing... after all... at what point does an animal become "unadoptable". We have a sanctuary at our shelter where cats live out their lives regardless of whether or not they find homes. We also have sections for FIV cats, FeLV cats, and feral cats. We'll spend thousands to save one cat - whether it's MRI's, amputations, expensive medications, etc. But even we have to euthanize many cats, just to end the suffering. I'm sure PETA ends up with the most horrible cases of any animal group. Most of them probably just cant be saved.

Because they are hypocrites.

And because, if you'll check the extremist views emphasized by PETA, although many members own animals themselves and believe that it is an organization that supports responsible pet ownership, the parent organization of PETA is actually AGAINST owning animals as pets. Therefore, they probably see themselves as "rescuing" these animals from a life as people's pets.

PETA hasn't been stopped because few people bother to look further into the organization. No one wants to say they are against an organization for the animals.

it variety of feels as though Peta might have long gone over the sting, they don't think of anybody can shield animals fairly much as good as they are in a position to so as that they might somewhat kill them somewhat than decrease their standards slightly so as that greater must be accompanied

PETA = Hypocrites

Oh yeah, PETA doesn't have the authority to "confiscate" animals. They steal them.

ok though I'm not big on PETA I know facts from lies. one you can never trust an internet source on what PETA has done, second though PETA does supoort euthenasia, it has to be done, if fido's in a home where he's never allowed in the house, kept chained up in the backyard no food no water, would you rather have him suffer longer or end his pain(that is if you can't find a home for him) overpopulation has led to the neccesity of euthenasia, theres no way all homelss dogs and cats can be found good homes.PETA is not against shelters that support euthenasia they're against shelters that have bad conditions, no-kill shelters that have to take in every pet brought to them are not good, they animals can't be kept in good emotionaly stable conditions.

I honestly think they started that group to get gullible people to give them money so they could avoid finding real jobs.

Perhaps they had to put some of the animals down becuasde they had rabies or a similar contagious/painful disease. Perhaps they don't have enough facilities to keep them all. But you're right, it is appaling
