For me

I would love a charm bracelet started with the first initial of each of my three sons. Now or later we can find a few charms to represent the trips we've taken. Like a colleseum for our honeymoon in rome and an Eifle tower for celebrating new years there a few years back, a paint pallet, typewriter, and chocolate bar for my hobbies perhaps.

I first hinted then told this to DH directly - but he says he dosent know where to start. Then each time we go on a trip or have an event he and the boys can get me a little charm, that will take care of birthdays for a long time. It will be a living growing gift with all kinds of memories tied up in it.

Looks like I'll have to take him shopping again so I don't get another dirt devil.

---------------

For him -

he needs a break away from the boys, and the rent houses. He wants to get away and I've told him I dont have time and I don't want to leave the babies.... but secretly I'm searching for a weekend away and arranging my dad and best friend to keep the kids. I'll give him a travel book to our destination and if all goes well we'll be there on new years or sometime soon after Christmas.

It replaced into some thing they'd taken alot of time arising ... he had accrued shells off the coastline and offered a elementary timber container and lined it with velvet then stuck the shells on in this remarkable trend with such precision it replaced into remarkable .. he gave this too me with little issues interior like this mini plastic turtle to pastime my memory of even as he informed me the tale of the toddler turtles he watched attempting to adhere to the moon to the sea - as I went to sleep one nighttime .. so a mixture of time, potential and shared memories made it remarkable.

The most romantic- was my engagement ring. My boyfriend was so cute and nervous.

My man's getting a Mp3 player and a DVD he was looking for and couldn't find. Let's just say he didn't look that hard for it.

I would like a new cell phone. Mine's so OLD!

I received a diamond ring from my husband. He surprised me and had it in a tiny box wrapped like a Christmas ornament and hung it on the tree. What a sweet surprise.

I've never really gotten a 'romantic' present, but this year my sisters' boyfriend is proposing to her, I think. I'm pretty sure. He took her to get a ring one day, and he told me it was to know what size her finger was. He's also been nervous and stuff lately...so I'm pretty sure they're gonna get married! Now that would be romantic!

My mom's been telling me for 30 years that she wants good children for Christmas. If she ever got it, we'd probably blow her mind beyond any present she has ever received. I just tell her, "If you haven't gotten it by now, you'll probably never get it." Good thing she loves us just the way we are.

PS. We're really not that bad... Oh, and we're all adults now. She just likes saying it.

When we were engaged, I got my husband some smaller gifts since I was out of a job and I put a cute little note with each one. We opened gifts with my parents, so after my husband opened his, my mom said "well, that blows mine out of the water" and threw her gift to my dad. My husband still has all of those little notes that I tucked in his gifts. It was cute watching him read them all.
