towels absorb more water than clothes

Because towels are designed to absorb and hold water unlike other laundry, therefore when the washer spins out, the towels retain more water than other laundry causing the dryer to work longer and harder to dry them.

towels are made with thicker cotton that is more absorbent, so when they are in the wash, they don't get as dry during the spin cycle as your clothes would. as a result, it takes a longer amount of time for them to completely dry in the dryer.

Pita, one good tip for drying towels is to shake them out good before you place them in the dryer. This cuts way down on the drying time. Also do not overload, it is better to do 2 fast loads and not overload your tub, when you put too many articles in and overload, you may burn the motor out and break a belt.

because they are heavy and absorb so much water. You know what helps? throw a dry towel in the dryer with your wet ones...they will dry faster

Towels absorb more moisture, ergo, they take longer to dry. Better the towel, the longer it takes.

They are so thick and padded, I imagine they absorb water very well (since they are used to dry you off). I found hanging your towel on a line or elsewhere is a good way to let them dry and your clothes will get top priority.

less heat space in the dryer to hit the towels, and they have more water in them
