Not knowing what days exactly you will be here, a general suggestion would be to go to The Galleria. It's a mall, but it's a huge, really nice mall. http://www.simon.com/mall/default.aspx?ID=805

The locals' "go-to" guide is Citysearch. Find some great restaurants on the site and make sure to check out user reviews. http://houston.citysearch.com

Kemah Boardwalk is interesting. You might try that. http://www.kemahboardwalk.com

there's nothing interesting to do in houston, except, if you like shopping, go to the galleria mall. it's the biggest mall i have seen in my life, and you can spend an entire day walking through there.

Hmm. . . ok well you can go to the museum district which is minutes away from the Galleria(mall).

NASA: but I find it quite boring it's about 40 mins. from downtown.

Downtown: they have really cleaned it up and there are restaurants and bars/clubs you can go to

Check out the museums and the zoo. They are very close together and cost just a few bucks. They are in the museum district and Herman Park.
