I had my case managment thing today for the divorce. The only thing in dispute is the medical bill. I am thinking that ill just pay that to get this whole divorce over with. Is it possible that i call the mediator back and tell her ill just pay for it. Will this make things go by faster? Instead of going to trial will i just get the divorce? Can i even call her back and tell her what i think?

Yes you can call the mediator and tell her that you want to pay the medical bill. Then there will be nothing left for dispute and your divorce will be able to move through. If this is what you truly want, to get it over with quickly, then that is probably the best bet. Otherwise you have to go through all the mediation, and court for the judge to decide who gets to pay the bill before you can even get to the divorce. That can be time consuming!

Good Luck!

If the medical bill is the only dispute and you are willing to pay for it then you should call the mediator and tell her. And yes it should speed things up.

What your new boy friend can't wait. Or are you afraid of what the case management is going to dig up. You should have thought about what all was going to be uncovered along time ago. It may work if you give into all the other ones demands. You must want to be with someone else real bad or you have something good to hide. These people have seen alot so do not be surprised it you have to go through the whole thing.

If I were you, I would call the mediator back and ask if the process would be simplified if you took responsibility of the medical bill. This way you will know if it will help speed things along.

Yes, you can call them back. It should help move things along more quickly. You will not have to go to trial is everything is agreed on before hand. You just appear before the judge, they go over the agreement with both of you and then sign the divorce papers and let you go..

It wont expidite it at all. Not at this point. Once a mediator has been assigned it is his/her job to see that all debt and assets are divided equally.

Any concession you make will help the process along, but be patient, the law moves ever so slowly on these things.
