What a seasonal question, thumbs up!
My favourite is still "It's A Wonderful Life" by Frank Capra. I don't think it will ever be beaten because it is sentimental, yes, but not in a cheesy Disney way but in a genuinely moving way and James Stuart was just great in it.

A Christmas Story and A Nightmare Before Christmas ... they are classics already, and I saw them both in theatres as a kid.
