Yes because this year they were suffering from the hangover of winning the Super Bowl. They returned 19 of their 22 starters from last year so there is no reason they should be in the situation that they are now. which is why once the hangover is gone they will return to form.

Also, the only key free agent who's contract is up is Troy P. once his new contract is worked out the Steelers will be returning everyone next year and will be ready to show that 2006 was just one of those years!

The Steelers have a core of very talented players that are under contract until after the 2007 season. They will lose practically no players of consequence to free agency after this season. This season, they experienced a Super Bowl hangover, IMHO, and didn't have the hunger to play as well as they needed to.

If they spend the offseason getting their offensive line in shape, have a good draft & bolster their depth (especially on the defensive front 7), they could be back in the playoffs in no time.

Yes..the steelers are going to be one pissed off team come training camp..and as a hardcore steeler fan i prefer an angry steeler team as opposed to the pansies that have been playing this year...btw..the patriots didn't make the playoffs the year after their first super bowl but went on to win 2 straight

hell yeah! the steelers are gonna dominate next year, and we'll just chalk this year up to a learning experience. there are a lot of talented players on that team, and i think by next year they will have found a happy medium between their passing game and running game, and they aren't gonna have a big target on their backs anymore because that'll go to whoever wins this years SB. I think ever player has played very well at some point this season on an individual basis, and when the whole team starts performing together..........watch out!
