What you r teachers are wanting is the evidence that you have listened to the music and watched the people act and l;ink the two,

For example: (It is a long time since I watched the musical so I will make up the stuff)

The witch in a musical may be evil and sinister - so the music would be in a minor key, maybe discordant, and spooky, That would convey the personality.

A clown, lighthearted and silly, on the other hand would have music that is jingly, maybe lots of eighth notes and a march rhythm.

Now, go get busy - do the listening and read the script. You'll get it

Do your own homework. The task was given to you and you need to figure it out on your own.

Good luck getting a job! No one is going to do the work for you.
