I am 24 and will be 25 next month. My question is, I would like to continue to sing. I stopped for a year and a half. Recently I went to karaoke with my husband and his freind. His freind couldn't beleive what he was hearing..lol..and I said it wasn't anything...sounding all rusty. I have a good voice and have been singing for 10 years and even performed at a club when I was 19. My mom mentioned to me when I was younger that you cannot make it if you are too old so subconsciously I feel a bit hesitant to even consider it. But for some reason 25-28 doesn't seem so old to me..... any input would be most appreciated! Ciao my fellow yahooians ... =)

The day your to old to do anything is one day after you die. What I'm saying is, your not to old to start. Just believe in yourself and you will exceed in whatever you want. Good luck to you. Your kind of inspirational if you follow through with this.

Thats not too old, Sheryl Crow when she was started older than that. And think of the older people that still tear the house down...Aretha, BB King, Aerosmith and Mariah's in her 30's.

Second, dont let anyone tell you what you can and cannot do. Its nice to be the exception to the "rule" and proving them all wrong.

You are never to old to sing. As long as you have great voice and love doing it... enjoy it! I'm sure people around your singing would do the same. Don't let anyone tell you different.

Yahoooooo-hooooo!

I don't think age matters as long as you have a good voice. When the voice goes, then it may be too old, but not until.

In any genre of music, you're only too old when people stop buying your albums. ;-)
As others have said, look at Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, etc.
Look at Barbara Streisand. Look at Ewa Podles (opera, and she's in her late 60's!)!

Stop listening to people who discourage you, and just go out there and do it for yourself. 8)

i don't think there is an age limit. as long as your vocal cords can handle it, i think it's a good idea to keep going for as long as you can. good luck!
