I think it's ridiculous to call a Christmas tree a holiday tree. It shouldn't offend anyone to say Merry Christmas. Oh, and to answer your question, it's politically correct to say African American, which I think is wrong because not all black people come from Africa (yet, another generalization on behalf of the politically correct agenda) - I take no offense to being called white, why would anyone be offended by being called black?
Oh yes - MERRY CHRISTMAS! :)

I think that Black is a better term, mainly because many Black Americans are not from Africa. Sure, there ancestors may have been. However, they are from America now and the same goes for Blacks in other countries as well. If this were true, couldn't you say everyone is African-American because everyone's ancestors dating back many, many, many, many years are from Africa? I think it matters more about where you are now, not so much where you were before. Lastly, there are also Arabs, Whites, Berbers, etc. that live in Africa, so why can't they claim that title?

412kid, Merry Christmas to you!!! You took the words from me!!!
Wouldn't it be better if we just called ourselves American. OK, so I'm white...But I don't expect anybody to call me an Italian, Swedish, Ukranian, Native American. Nobody these days can say for sure what their national heritage is, but only what country they are a citizen and patriot of. More people need to remember that they are Americans first.
Merry Christmas to all!!!!

Happy Holidays to you too!
I prefer "black". I think African-American's are the people who immigrated from Africa on their free will. I've never been to Africa, and I have no idea about my African Ancestry. So, I don't really think its right to call myself that.

It's called a Christmas tree.
Sorry, I'm not Christian or anything, it just urks me how Western countries change their religious practices to accomodate immigrants.
=) But nonetheless, Happy Holidays.
My black friends prefer I call them black. Because, "We are not American, and we have never been to Africa"

It just depends on the person. Most likely they will not get mad unless you make is sound bad or rude.
