A front loader will last around 5years,common faults but easy fixes,over-fill,no-fill,brushes and door seal.If bearings go (noisy on spin)get new machine, not worth the hassle.

In general a quality german machine, Bosch, AEG etc, should last about 10 years. Our last AEG was sold at 12 years old about 3-4 years ago for £170.00 and it's still going! The cheaper Italian East Euopean made machines usually have a much shorter life, about 3-6 years if they dont get a hard use!

It's not uncommon for something to go wrong within a few days of the guarantee running out (usually 12 months warranty), but to be fair I've had the same BOSCH machine for five years with no problem.

Well, the answer is debatable.
First of all...take out the three year warranty because from experience i have had electrical goods etc. die within a matter of days of the warranty running out! Yes that is a pain in the buttox!
I believe they make them to last for the guarantee...they have a special room for the ones that take out an extended guarantee!
TRUST NO1!

It depends on the make and model and how often you use it.
And no, I don't think it is worth repairing it unless it is something
simple, like a belt. After six years you have had your moneys
worth. Probably cheaper to buy a new one in the long run

I believe 5 or 6 years is long enough, is better and cheaper to get a new one than getting this one repair

probably not.
my mom's lasted for about 30 years. they got it when they got married, but things don't last that long anymore.
my grandmother gave me her wafflemaker, which is probably about 50 years old (seriously) and it still works great!
however, 6 years for a washer in these times....i'd prob call to see how much it would be for a repairman to come around. if it's a good bit, then i'd probably just buy a new machine.
oh, and check out your warranty...maybe it's still covered!!! (but i doubt it:)
take care.

Yes, about 2300 full cycle washes which for many people is about 8 years. Good luck on staying in clean clothes for awhile.
