Nop, he could have mites and be stratching it off, or have a skin problem.
you need to contact a vet who should sort this problem out easily, and hopefully he will live at least another year!

i'm not sure....but you should get him checked! i had many hamsters before but they always had a little bit of thin fur on their bellies but not totally bald....i don't know maybe he is losing hair like old people do? i think a year and a half is considered old for hamsters...mine lived up to about two years though

Hamsters seldom live beyond 2 yrs of age...he may have other health issues...often they get tumors. But 2 yrs is a long life for a hamster.

in all probability has mites. carry it to the vet they are going to verify it out, and cope with it. sparkling cage nicely (bleach and water) previously returning it to the cage, in case you finally finally end up with a sparkling hamster, get a sparkling cage so which you do no longer infect the hot hamster.

Take him to the vets. Some pills should sort it, or rub some olive oil on him.
