If you feel you are going to be sexually active then be smart and take the pill. However, do not allow to take the place of condoms. The pill is to protect you from getting pregnant not for sexually transmitted diseases. Be safe....

It depends on two things, whether she is sexually active or if the hormones that are active are productive enough to have a regular menstrual period. I had some hormonal imbalance and was placed on birth control- that was 13 years ago.

once she has her period, she can take the pill. The pill is also used to regulate your cycle, not just for sex. (Use condoms for extra protection, the pill loses effectiveness if not used exactly right!)

I know that the pill has been given to girls right after their period has started to regulate it. So, in essence, as early as the girl starts menstruating.

Depends on your situation. Are you wanting it for sex reasons or to regulate your periods? !2 is when my sister started taking them but it was to regulate her periods. If you are young please dont have sex until you are older and know what you are doing. You will have regrets if you arent ready. Tell us more on your situation as to why you want the pill.

It's probably best to call Planned Parenthood. They can give safe, confidential information on birth control.

As soon as she gets her period. Especially if she's sexually active. BUT she should not rely on the pill alone, it may make your skin clear, but it can get you pregnant and it won't protect you against aids.

Whatever age she starts to have sex. I would hope when she has the knowledge to protect herself.

that would be hard to say....go to the doctor and talk to them about it, they can help with deciding if it is the right thing to do at a certain age
