Meals are social functions and large meals make it a large social occassion. I have been to holidays where they didn't do much in the way of a meal and it was sort of a let down. I look forward to all that stuff, eating and talking and joking. I love it when it's my turn to cook.

I do it so we have leftovers of a special tasty foods to eat for a few meals instead of having to make food every 5 hours. That way we can relax and enjoy our time together with no stress.

Folks want to present their best and most associate Holidays with good food, family and fellowship. We are a spoiled nation here in America that's for sure.
