I live in a very small town that lives and breathes the "good ole boy" mentality. I was recently charged with a totally bogus crime, and told that if I didn't take the offered plea bargain and pay the fine that there would be other people in my group charged with a more serious crime. I took the deal to protect my son, who is a junior in high school. The local deputies have a history of harassing, and even killing one teenager. We are not from here, and any stand taken by myself will be met with retaliation, I am sure. My son has already been pulled over and his vehicle searched, and forced to take a breathalyzer...he blew a 000. After holding him for several hours, they called me and let him go. Because I started to stand up to them by pleading not guilty and requesting a jury trial...I am afraid for my son who is not a problem child. He makes decent grades, and takes regular drug tests to participate in sports at school, and has never been in trouble. Somebody has got to know.

If your city/county police force is too small or insular to have an Internal Affairs office, then take your story to the State Attorney General's office or the FBI office in your state capital (NOT the local one, if any). Offer to make any sworn statements needed to start an investigation into corruption in the local force.

Be prepared to move your family out of that county for their safety, in case these are criminals who run that town; I suggest doing so before they find out that they are under investigation - lives might be at stake.

Don't be afraid to get the media involved - not the local news, either. Once your family is out of the way, don't be afraid to cooperate fully with state or federal authorities.

once their claim to celebrity status is made there is no white boys bikers out there any more either, they use to carry a coral snake dead in a jar just to leave an eye dropper of it's fluid in a cup of coffee but there are times gone by in america that are just that gone!
