Why must I choose between your two answers?
I fear for this country because of the way that the current administration has lost its freaking mind and hacked up the Constitution.
If we can deny people habeus corpus, you're in deep doo-doo, pal. That means that ANYONE they can label as being a threat to the state can be held indefinitely without counsel. Think about what that means.
I don't "hate" Bush as much as he just nauseates me. Here's the leader of the greatest country on the planet, and he doesn't even have a command of the English language. The guy would be lucky to get a "C" in any composition class I ever took.
The best we can hope for is that the new legislature will work TOGETHER for OUR benefit, and get some damned work done!
This country got screwed royally over prescription drugs, and if the conservative religious nutcakes could have their way, there wouldn't even be condoms on the shelf at Walgreens, bud. These are the people who make love in the dark and think its wrong to touch yourself. They're a scary bunch, and they tried to "get in bed" with Bush.
Of course, Bush simply played them along for their votes, which makes him just as scary as the nutcakes.
God help this country, but not from "liberals," or gays, but from people who want to control what you see, hear, think and say.

I love the U.S.A.
I am not happy with what Bush is doing to the country I love, but I don't hate him. I don't have to hate him to want to see the government freed from one-party rule. I don't have to hate him to think that he sent our troops into harm's way in an ill-advised war against a two-bit dictator who didn't have the WMDs that Bush claimed he did.
You may think all liberals are filled with hate, but you're wrong. Perhaps hate is something you understand all too well, so you mistakenly project that emotion on those whom you don't understand. Just a thought.

As a conservative, I will answer the same way as a liberal - my love for the USA makes me hate Bush.

They are mutually exclusive. I love my country, which is why I hate Bush. I hate Bush because I love my country, and hate what he has done to it. Instead of questioning what we believe, you NEED to come up with how your going to save Iraq, remember the mess that you started 4 years ago? Yeah it hasn't gone away.
I would love to just pity him, but the day we invaded Iraq for no reason, is the day his incompetence stopped being cute.

this is a tough question because this is not the same USA that it was a few years ago. it has become a nation where greed has taken the wheel and not a nation where all men are looked upon as equals. the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. the rich man gets rich off the sweat of the common working man who has to hold two sometimes three jobs to make ends meet. so my answer would have to be my hate for bush.

Love is not a one or the other proposition. I both hate Bush and love this country. In fact, I hate Bush BECAUSE I love this country.
Allow me to rephrase you question, please.
Conservatives, what is greater in your heart, your love of Bush or your hatred of this country?

Love for country, of course. What is greater in your heart, blindly following and blindly believing everything Bush says, or your love for your country?

Before the last election, I'd say those two were equal. Now that Bush's power is going to be put into check, I'm letting go of my animosity towards him to a certain degree.
