All dial-up connections are slow, they is not the best option. Of course there are some things you can make to improve your speed. First check all your cables to have a perfect connection each other until they reach the modem. The second thing you can do is to check on the Internet, on your provider site, if there is an accelerator program that increase your speed with 20-50%. This is about what you can do to improve your speed to dial-up connection.

The reason dial up is slow is that signal has to be converted from digital (from your PC) to analog (your modem does this) send along the phone lines as an analog signal, eventually, the phone company converts it to digial, then it goes out into the major pipelines of the internet and eventually to the actual server or other computer you are trying to access. Then the entire process is reversed.

Converting digital to analog means that the each bit of data has be converted to a certain tone for a certain time, and that limits how many bits can be transferred over a certain amount of time

Well i wouldnt buy a dial up connection because it is very slow and the bandwidth is vey low and it is not good for downloading things such as music etc as it takes hours to download. I would advise that you get a broadband connection as these are faster and really aren't that more expensive whell where i stay they aren't.
