I think just the opposite. Most job salaries should be cut in half and supplemented through tipping. I don't know what you do, but let's say you are a bouncer in a nightclub...you eject an unruly patron and the other patrons tip you for helping them to have a better time. See?

If you did a survey of waiters/waitresses about this I imagine you would find that the ones that make a killing off tips wouldn't want a set wage. And, consequently, the ones that don't make much from tips would agree with you. The question becomes how much do they make on average??
I would say keep the tip system. But, I'm a heavy tipper. I have friends that have worked in the food services industry. They are heavy tippers. You have to really mess up for me not to tip you. And, I will let you know it.

No.The good ones would end up losing money and the quality of service would drop. The bad ones would make more money, but the service wouldn't be any better. That's why they weren't making money in the first place. SO.... The service quality would decrease, the food prices would raise, more people would eat at home, and the already crumbling economy as a result of Bush, would fall apart.

I bet they earn more with tips. Restaurants would charge more for food, it would all come out in the wash.
