you need to install the hdd properly for it to work try wiki to get full details on how to do this hdd mean your harddrive

Really need a few more details. If you're replacing the single drive in your pc you'll need to boot with the windows CD and do a complete install/upgrade. If it's a new second disc it needs partitioning (START-ALL PROGRAMS-ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS-COMPUTER MANAGMENT, then click on STORAGE to work with the drives). There is a possibility that the drive may need keying to your bios, or the other way round This is rare but will need a professional service

If you don't know what initiating means then I think that you should not be messing about with computer's, also next time you have a question why not try the check spelling tool that is supplied so that you know how to spell properly if you can read consult the manual that might help you sort out your problem. best of luck mate.
