First of all, I'm sorry you had to attend so many funerals in such a short amount of time.
Second, there are two answers to your question. According to WebMD, it can be a bad idea for pregnant women to attend funerals because they are such emotional events that could have negative effects on the women and, therefore, the fetus. Some cultures (Hawaiian and Chinese, according to Google results) believe that if a woman attends a funeral, evil spirits will take the baby, affect the baby, do whatever evil spirits do to babies. That's your superstitious part.

I've honestly never heard this before, the only reason I can think of is if the person who passed was very close then maybe the stress isn't good for the baby. If it's really concerning you shoot me a email and I can ask my father in law he works in a funeral home, he might know

I went to two funerals when I was pregnant and I never heard anyone say that I shouldn't be there because I was pregnant. I have never heard anyone say that.

My wife in Chinese and she believes that the spirit of the dead (evil or good, does not matter) will be reincarnated as the child in the womb. Also, faternal twins that are a boy and a girl were married in the previous life and that close bond still effects their relationship.

i imagine you need to bypass. at the same time as i became pregnant in my first-tri, my ex-husband's spouse died. We were close, yet my MIL advised me no longer to bypass because it really is undesirable luck. I listened to her, yet everytime i imagine about it, i think so undesirable for no longer being there. Your pal perchance pushing each and every pregnant ppl away, yet its your pal. If it truly is a much off pal, then you may want to dodge the problem. yet at the same time as someone is grieving, it really is continually good to have a pal there beside you. in case you do not bypass, you need to sense undesirable later on for no longer attending. like me... =( Funeral does no longer positioned extra rigidity at the same time as pregnant. only becareful once you're on the slippery grass.

The world will say many things. It is yet another superstition related to new life versus death. Follow God and his ways and stop listening to the foolishness of the world.

I believe it is true that pregnant women shouldn't attend funerals because if its not then I need to know why does my nephew look exactly like his grandfather that passed away....and whats even more interesting is that his grandfather had brain cancer so he couldn't do the things a regular person could. And the baby my nephew had a stroke in the womb before he was born and now He cant do the things a normal infant can do....it's really scary and it took a toll on my sister and my mother told her not to attend the funeral....God is real and so is death and evil and good spirts.
