Anyone remember this movie? it was about a guy who had never been much on computers or high tech... it was set in the early 80's when home computers were still pretty new. When the computer goes heywire he drowns it in champagne. But instead of destroying it he gives it life..

Next thing he knows, a neighbor who plays the chello has also gotten the love of a computer...

Starred Virginia Madison and a guy who would later play on Home ALone 3 (sure didnt age much in 20+ years).

If you ever saw this, what would you think of a remake? they could do so much with it today.
maybe the same guy could play "Cort" the computer again (he's still alive).

Yeah i remember seeing parts of this movie. If remade, it would probably have the computer develop a love/hate relationship after the dude spurns it. I can see the 'puter hacking the guy's bank accounts, altering his ID and all kinds of stuff like that. A decent storyline could be made from it, but most likely have to be an indie film, hollywood would just make a hash out of it.

Other than the fact that my musical hero, Jeff Lynne, did a couple solo songs for the movie, my FAVORITE part is when the 'cello girl' next door and the 'computer' have it out, musically, with 'The Duel'!!! That was just awesome mixing the cello with midi like that. Yes, there should be a remake to this underrated movie! As long as Jim Carey & Eddie Murphy stay away from the casting calls..LOL!
