It depends what you call a war.
The United Kingdom defeat of the Argetinians in the Falklands is probably the last (ever?) occasion in which one country defeated another as part of a campaign with a number of battles etc. However, even then the United Kingdom used United States' satellite information.
The USA was not quite on its own in Vietnam. There were obviously South Vietnamese troops. In addition, there were small Australian and New Zealand contingents.

G'day Assaye10,
Thank you for your question.
The last war the UK won on its own was in the Falklands in 1982. The US won engagements in 1994 in Grenada with the assistance of five nations from the Caribbean. In 1989, it invaded Panama to remove the corrupt administration of General Manuel Noriega.
For the record, the US was not in Vietnam on its own but had allies including the South Vietnamese, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, the Philippines and South Korea.
I have attached sources for your reference.
Seasons regards

Neither country won on their own.
In Vietnam there was a strategic withdrawal and cessation of hostilities - ie a draw
In the case of the Falklands, UK could not have undertaken the recapture of the island without the logistic, material and intelligence support they received from the USA.

well; we certainly did for the argies in teh malvinas...oops, thats the Falklands..(1982)
has america ever won a war unsupported? no... grenada was a skirmish... and they couldnt even invade Cuba... which is like us getting beaten back by the Isle of Man Navy!
and the americans LOST Vietnam... they evacuated Saigon in 1974...

neither, am not too up on Nam but do know America gave(Or was it sold?) us Air to Air missiles which helped us win the Falklands so who knows, maybe it was the Grim Reaper who won both?
Having thought a bit more were the Argies just not very good at winning because it was for all intents and purposes a home game for them oh SOS Nam was an away fixture as well wasn't it but what one made Apocalypse Now possible?

Falklands. We now have a situation where they are about to lose two wars together. Afghanistan and Iraq. That's a first - if you don't count Korea.
