The ocean has alot to do with the weather and the earth.
Humans travel on the ocean also by ships. Food comes from the ocean. Possibly cures are in the ocean .

Humans use the oceans to fish in- oil- haul cargo -take cruises , have fun ,etc. Yes- we depend on the ocean that is why we must not pollute the ocean & be good stewards of our vast oceans.

As far as uses, we use the oceans for food primarily. The oceans play a major epart in the stabilization of our climate, temperature, and atmosphere, which make Earth conducive to life. Yes we are dependent on it.

We cannot survive without it. We need water, the ocean is the blood of the Earth so to say. Everything from humans to the atmosphere is reliant on it for sustainance.

Actually contrary to popular belief the ocean and not the rainforest is responsible for most of the earths oxygen.
