I wwould agree with Confuzzle!... to add a bit more to his....
'far' and 'up' are the two 'measurable' terms used to describe "length" and "direction" in general!
To measure these two parameters for any entity, we NEED a reference point. If you take the "earth" as the reference point, then assuming that no heavenly bodies will cross your path, you can travel as 'far' as you want as the universe is boundless!!
Now, for the direction part, up, down, left, right are the 'names' of the directions with respect to a "reference". If the position of the reference changes then the name of the direction will also change!!!! Hence direction is "reference - dependant"!!.
Putting these terms to use in universe, you can keep moving "farther" and "upper" INFINITELY!!....
keep going.... not even the sky is the limit :))

Though I believe, if you go any direction in space, and if space is infinit, you could go forever, I agree with Eddy Bear. Though you could CALL any direction in space "up," it really is no direction. Similar rules apply if you're in the exact center of the inner core of the Earth (if, of course, that were possible), every direction is "up." You could call the direction beneath your feet "down," but it still leads "up" to the surface. And, anyway, "up" is just a direction. It goes on forever, regardless. Sure, there's a roof over your house, but does that mean that's where "up" stops? It may go forever, no matter if there is an end to space or not. I know some of my ideas contradict one another, but I'm trying to answer most aspects of your question. lol

Up ends at the top of the Earth's atmosphere. Once you go beyond that you're in space where there is no rightside up or down.

Three to the fourth power, minus the square root of Einstein's Theory of Relativity, with a pinch of sugar and a dash of cinnamon thrown in for good measure.

That is relative to the object going up. You have gravity, fuel concerns, power, etc. If no retrictions, going up is infinite - unless you hit something. The universe is massive. Does it have an end? No one knows.

once you are out of the gravitational field of a planet there is no such thing as up. all directions are only our concepts of direction, u can go up until you get into space then there is no up so u can't go up.
