I realize without our independence we couldn't have done anything without the consent of england, but i think that the process we undertook to build our nation/empire from 1776-1800 is far more revolutionary.

what do you think?

I just want to say "we" did not do anything, "we" were not there during the American Revolution or the time following. "We" are in the present, and I am not trying to sound rude or be mean or anything, it's just I majored in History and my professors would squirt you with a water bottle whenever someone said "we" instead of "they".

With that said, what I think is that both are very revolutionary but what the founding father's did to create a new democratic nation with it's own Constitution. They could have just simply created another monarchy and parliamentary government like that of England. But they didn't that is what makes it so revolutionary, they chose something new, something that before 1776 was unthinkable and unattainable. And they made it work, they created something that to this day is one of the longest opperating democracies.

Well considering the war is from 1775-1783. 1776 is just when we declared our independence. I think you need to read up on history a little bit. America was a weak fragile country full of fur trappers and tobacco farmers until the mid-1800's. As of the year 1800 C.E., we had only one president, 22 states, and one pathetic army. America wasn't considered a global power until the 1920's. nuuuuurf

Hmmm. Good question. I think what happened from 1776-1800 because no one else on the planet had tried what happened then.

That's a damn good question and I had to think for awhile. I would say the events following the revolution were more revolutionary. Rebellions had happened for years and years. BUt the development of sucha unique system of government and the beginning of westward expansion was completely unprecedented.
