Sperm is temperature sensitve, and they require the liquid of the semen to stay alive for any length of time.

Sperm is not viable after its been exposed to air for more than a couple minutes, because it dies in room temperature.

Sperm in a condom that is still benig used by a man who didnt remome himself after climaxing and cleaning up, is still viable, and if that condom breaks during the continued intercourse pregnancy can occure the same as if no condom were used.
