keep your legs together......Maine was NOT part of the 13 colonies.......what is now Maine was a part of Massachusetts in 1776 and didn't become a separate state until 1820, admitted as a free state as a compromise when Missouri was let in as a slave state...the ol' Missouri Compromise..

oh, yeah, the far northeast was added to Massachsuetts ( Maine) as part of the settlement after the War of 1812
