I know that I have entered this question a few days ago I thought I would ask it again to give anyone else who might remember it a chance, I am asking a lot with this question as I don't have much information, but does anyone remember a tv series about a special car in the late 70's (its not knight rider,or kitt ),what I remember it was stolen from a military base, and when it was stolen there was lots of search lights, alarms going off etc,it has a lot of switchs inside, was a silver colour, had sliding doors, doesnt seem to ever need refuelling and the man that stole it goes from place to place sorting out the problems and bulies in the towns as he goes (a bit like the hulk used to, only using the power of his car to do it) and picking up hitchikers and sorting out thier problems too, so can you help me name this programe as I have been trying to remember what it's called for years now,you are probabilly my last hope, it's definitely not Knight Rider, Street Hawk, or Automan

I know the one you're talking about - it was sort of a "pay-it-forward" concept, but not quite that sugary. I can't think of the NAME though!!!!! Just that it was a show where a guy would do something good because someone did something for him, and his only requirement was that they help someone else when they were asked to do so. I think it was a lot later than the 70s though - more like the 90s, and it was VERY short-lived. I don't remember there necessarily being a car; I think the main character was played by a 50-ish fellow who's done a lot of character roles. I'll probably think of the name at 3 a.m. or something... if so, I'll let you know :-)

Edit: ok - the gal above me has the one I'm thinking of - "The Equalizer"! It aired for four seasons, starting fall of 1985. I don't know if this is the show the original asker was referring to, but I know I'M going to feel better now that I know the name - thanks!!

Maybe it was the Equalizer. I don't remember the car, but the show you describe sounds like the plot for that show. The guy was British or something, and he'd help people out....all very vague memories, but it may be the show you're thinking of...

I'm a 80's kid but my husband ad his best friend were talking about a show about a car it was called Herbie. That probably isn't it but just thought I'd put it there just in case it rang a bell.

Go with Kelly Bundy. She is pretty accurate, and I am of the same opinion.
