Worcester - they give a 2 year guarantee as opposed to most companies that only give the required one year. Worcester have joined forces with Bosch and Bosch also have and excellent reputation. With Worcester almost all spares can be got hold of by next day. Very useful in the middle of winter when your heating and hot water goes - no 3 weeks wait

Sorry to say this, but there is no longer such a thing as a good domestic boiler of any kind.

All new boilers are condensing boilers. More expensive than the old style. Higher efficiency than before, so you save energy and save the planet. But because of the minimum 20ºc temperature drop you need, larger radiators than before. Thus more cost and more energy to make them give you the room temperature you want..

Then they go wrong. because they are filled with circuit boards they are tempremental. More costs to you and more energy to make the new board.

Their expected life is about 10 years. Then you will need a new boiler. The old ones could go on for 50 years with no more than a vacumn clean every year or so.

If you can find an old cast iron non-condensing boiler, you will be helping to save mankind and your own bills.

.Just make sure B'liar and Brown don't find you are doing the the right thing to keep our planet going. Less tax for them that way.
