If you can stand taking anti depression medication, all the whining, crying, being such an emotionally self indulged wimp you'd like to kill yourself, slicing yourself up with razor blades, greasy black hair, horn-rimmed glasses and tight sweatshirts, and can stand that overly (emotive) music, and want to be just like all the other MTV motivated Emo conformist, I guess nothing?

You should ask yourself the question... If you like do be/ dress/ act like what you consider emo then go for it, and the judgmental people out there need to get bent. That is why Columbine took place, because of people picking on others so don't let people making fun of you get you down... I am an emo/ skater/ punk/ goth/ with a lil prep so just don't worry about it enjoy life

Being "emo" usually means that you've been labeled as a person that breeds a lot of unecessary drama, usually self-inflicted. If you're labeled an emo kid, it's because you're classifying yourself as a martyr for all mankind, wallowing in negativity, "Oh, everyone hates me, I want to write a poem about it and die like Kurt Cobain did" kind of drama.
Of course, that's just Detroit's definitions of emo...it could be different everywhere else. Tupac, believe it or not, was labeled as emo too...listen to his lyrics and you'll know why. Everyone's definition is different.

Yes, plenty is wrong.
Fisrt off, the skinny look is unhealthy and STUPID
Second, how can you CRY over a GIRL or GUY you just lost? Boo-frickity-hoo.
Third, why the cutting? Is it not enough that you already have your own privacy?
Fourth. Emos are a disgrace to wearing black. I wear all black and I listen to heavy metal, and none of that metalcore Avenged Sevenfold crap either. I'm talking about Metallica being the roots, Dimmu Borgir, Hatebreed.... No amount of AFI in the world will contribute to anything good in the world.

Yes. It's immature to push yourself into a label. What's wrong with being you?
If I went into a room and there were 10 emos sitting talking and one person sitting in the corner on their own then I would go talk to that person because whatever they have to say has got to be more interesting than listening to a conversation about brands of black hair dye and how to avoid blood poisoning when you slice your arms open.

If you feel there is nothing wrong with the "emotional' you, why would it matter if we think there is something wrong with it? The way I see it, you could spend all your life being the norm or you can do what and be what you want!!!! I consider myself to be a nice mix of Emo meets Punk meets Goth meets Beatnick, and I was raised a little bit country! People think I am strange, but you know what? I really dont care what they think, and neither should you!

Yes, it's the show-offy nature of it. Why make me deal with your angst. Should you have to deal with mine?
There was a fad in the 80's of girls getting a teardrop tattooed on their faces. Now those girls are having a hard time being taken seriously because it's a label that says you think you're the only one who has had pain in your life. If you think that, what other mistakes will you make that might cause trouble for other people?
LOL@ boo-frickety-hoo
