i've got heard that Hondas and Toyotas have the suitable reliability on the industry.... and yet there are Hondas and Toyotas in the keep and at that dealership daily for maintenance... Hmmm... What this implies is which you won't be able to continuously have self assurance what you pay attention... i've got have been given a 2001 PT Cruiser constrained... in simple terms below 70K miles... My mom has a 2002 PT Cruiser constrained - additionally approximately 70K miles.... My cousin as a 2001 PT Cruiser constrained - approximately 90K miles.... the complication-loose thread with all of them (as properly the family individuals) is they have all been rather worry loose autos.... yet what you incredibly could evaluate is the automobile you would be paying for.... that is all with regard to the maintenance and care given via the previous proprietor.... in the event that they have taken sturdy care of it and maintained it, then you definately shouldn't have any significant problems.... Take the automobile to a qualified (and depended on!) mechanic or save and characteristic it regarded over... have it regarded at and inspected.... do a "carfax" document to work out what style of historic past the automobile might have.... in short, study what you are going to purchase.... and a pair of alternative issues....: there is not any 2000 PT Cruiser. It grow to be presented in Spring of 2000, whether it grow to be a 2001 sort 365 days vehicle.... and there is not any such component as a suitable automobile.... each automobile available - no count WHO made the component - might have flaws and problems and destroy downs... some extra beneficial than others... Oh, and another little bit of advice - attempt to stay removed from Turbos.... definite, they are swifter and extra efficient.... definite, they are exciting.... yet they are extra high priced (short AND long term) to possess and guard.... A Turbocharger is a positioned on merchandise... in different words, with age and use, that is going to destroy down... and that they are high priced to restoration/restoration/replace....

I bought a 2006 PT cruiser and love it, so far no problems, but I haven't had it long, I did take it on a long trip, average on the highway was 28-29 mpg. It seemed that I would get the best mileage at 63 mph. In town driving average 24-25 mpg. I have a van, so this is much better mileage than the van. My husband and I both have major hip problems, and we can get in and out of it with no problem. I love the fact that you can take out the seats and have plenty of storage room, too me it was a step up from a van. Apparantly they must be pretty popular, I see people driving them all over the place. I think it is the same with everything, there are people that love them, people that hate them,

I bought my Cruiser new in 2002. I have had no problems with it to speak of and it just rolled over 100,000 this week. I will say the weight of the lil guy is a bit tough on the breaks though. Outside of that, I have been a very happy Cruiser in my Cruiser.

Very! I had a 2002 PT Cruiser, and traded it for a 2005 Convertible Touring Edition. Also, bought a 2006 Convertible Touring for our second car. Awesome vehicles, fun to drive, great gas mileage on both standard and automatic.

Is the sky brown? The PT was built on the platform of the Neon. It uses the same basic parts. (Engines, tranny, suspension, breaks)

So it should be OK. The Neon was out for years before the slapped the Hearse body on it.

It is a Chrysler though so it's not going to stop all that well. Or turn well for that matter. It'd get a Toyota Matrix or Pontiac Vibe (Same Car) if you want reliability.

Every Chrysler we've ever owned has had LOTS of problems, but we've never had a PT Cruiser.

I think the PT Crusiers are reliable. They have 3 airbags and a base price of only $15,200- $29,700. Good fuel mileage. They come in hatchbacks and convts.

My brother has one and he thinks it's great and he's had zero problems with it. I think it's a 2002 model.
