Something had to start the whole thing and create the big bang which created the universe, time and space.

We call it God

If we assume that time and the universe have been around for the same amount of time, and that the universe had a beginning, then the fact that we have reached this point shows that time began.

If, however, we see the universe as something that always was, and always will be, neither having a beginning nor end, then time wouldn't have started, and would have always been around, thus meaning time didn't start, but we reached this moment in time.

It is relative to whomever or whatever is measuring it. Time is an interval between events. It does not have to be an interval from the "start" of time to now. If you wanted that, this point is the time it took from your definition of "the beginning" to now and can be different for everybody.

I can say it took 1 minute of time to write this answer relative to how long it took me to write the answer in Germany using this type of clock hanging on my wall, using Earth measurement standards, etc...

Well that's my 2 cents...

Perhaps time did not start, perhaps there was no be genning (on the grand scale) but a series of events, like a chain reaction. Perhaps the "start of our time" was only one of many events in the chain reaction of the universe. And while it seemes like time started to us, because we have no notion of what came before, Time has been going on forever, similar to a circle. We (humainty & all we know) are but a 1/1000th of a second...........or perhaps our entire universe is a proton or cell in some other being.
